Jeannene Tedesco - Cookies from Heaven

Among friends, family, and neighbors, Jeannene Tedesco has always been known for her heavenly cookies. She never dared to arrive at any event without her signature cookies for fear of the disappointment she would encounter. Many people had suggested over the years that Jeannene should start a cookie business, but with three small children and a full time job, she couldn't imagine having the time to do this. However, after losing her job, she decided that it was time to take her life in a new direction. By starting a business in her home, she could be there for her children and hopefully make money, as well.

The Beginning

Jeannene Tedesco knew nothing about running a business, especially out of her home. She signed up for a small business course to learn everything she could to get started. After learning about all the health regulations and making the necessary changes in her kitchen, Cookies from Heaven was launched. At first, she found small retail businesses around her community that were willing to sell her cookies. Through advertising, retailers, and word of mouth, the demands for her cookies grew very quickly.

Now

With the ever growing popularity for these incredibly delectable cookies, Jeannene soon realized she needed to expand her business and hire some help to keep up with the orders. She opened her first bakery in February of 2000 and has since opened three others in various locations. Jeannene recently expanded her business to online ordering, and it has been very successful, as well.

Jeannene admits that she can't really take full credit because her line of cookies includes a variety of family recipes as well as a few of her own creations. Some of the family cookie recipes have been handed down for several generations. Her most popular cookie came from Jeannene's great grandmother and is loving named "Nana's Banana Chocolate Chip,"

While growing up, Jeannene's fondest memories were of the time she spent in the kitchen with her mother and grandmother making these delectable cookies. Much love and care was taken to ensure that these cookies were perfectly formed and were soft and chewy every time, and Jeannene was the official taster. She still applies this attention to her line of cookies. Even better, her business has become a family business because her mother and grandmother as well as Jeannene Tedesco's children now help her continue this family tradition.
